1.
Supervises technical publications personnel.
2.
Schedules task-efforts relating to preparation/releases for validation and approval of technical documentation.
Schedules Technical Writers and Illustrators for all document updates.
3.
Assures that technical publications (Component Maintenance Manuals, Service Bulletins, Service Information Letters and Folding Procedures, T-Files, Flight Manual Supplements, Ground Support Equipment List, Common Data File Sets) are in accordance with accepted customer and ATA standards or precedents (e.
g.
, MIL STDS/Specs as applicable, standard practices, engineering manual, company drawings etc.
).
4.
Coordinates preparation, including research and Engineering Change Notices (ECN) interpretation for document updates and checks technical writing and illustrations to assure that presentation standards are followed.
5.
Performs as technical illustrator or technical writer when workload is such that supervisory and checking duties do not require a full time effort.
6.
Responsible for storing and verification of integrity of computerized data (artwork and text).
Ensures proper storing and backups of all manuals/documentation produced.
In addition, responsible for the collection and coordination of all computerized data as generated, or used, by department personnel.
7.
Responsible for implementing personnel procedures.
8.
Develop and maintain methods and standards, as they relate to the creation, storage and release of technical publications, with the purpose of increasing document quality, decreasing costs, and improving schedule.
9.
Propose/recommend upgrades to Technical Publication hardware and software to ensure continued technical evolution.
10.
Provides training classes in house to both internal and external customers (e.
g.
airlines) for CMM and Folding Procedure usage.
11.
Responsible for establishing and maintaining the Technical Publication budget.
12.
Responsible for coordinating Spanish work instruction translations to support Technical Publication revisions and new document releases.
13.
Other duties as assigned.
